¿Cómo describes tus obras? ¿Qué diferencia tu trabajo de otros?
Es una obra de arte en un producto. Son fotos que he estado sacando durante varios años en los viajes y los recorridos que he hecho, son muy personales, siempre hay una historia detrás que son las que escribo en los productos. Son fotografías que no están editadas, ninguna tiene filtro, todas son toma directa, así como la encontré así se quedó, y son experiencias de vida. Lo que estoy haciendo es que la foto artística pueda tener otro campo de expresión, que no se quede colgado en una pared, que se lleve como accesorio y que el arte se pueda mover de un lugar a otro.
¿Qué te inspiró a empezar a trabajar en fotografía?
Tenía ya muchas ganas de hacer algo con mi foto, porque la tenía guardada en mi computadora, algo me dijo que ya las sacara, que estaban ahí desperdiciándose, entonces fue como inspiración de decir “si están ahí, ¿por qué las voy a dejar escondidas?”, creo que el arte siempre se tiene que enseñar.
¿Cómo fue el proceso de llevar el arte a productos comerciales?
Lo primero que hice fue hacer una selección, me tardé como un mes, porque me fui a fotos desde el 2003, algunas fotos todavía estaban en CDs.
Luego empecé a ver qué productos quería hacer, lo primero que se me ocurrió fue cubrebocas, encontré un proveedor en león y con ellos empecé a trabajar. Siempre me han preocupado las cuestiones del ambiente, entonces decidí hacer bolsas de tela para el súper con doble vista.
La idea es que la marca se vaya diversificando a parte de estos dos productos y haciendo uso de los proveedores locales.
¿Cómo imaginas tu carrera y tu negocio en un futuro?
Yo espero que sí crezca con sucursales y que puedas conseguir los productos en otras partes de Guanajuato, ahorita está empezando, tenemos 2 meses, mi idea es que se pueda hacer más grande.
¿Qué significa Guanajuato para ti?
Toda la vida he estado aquí y mi familia tiene generaciones aquí, entonces para mí es un lugar que me gusta mucho, que siento que tiene muchas áreas de oportunidad, que tiene espacios en los que el arte puede estar para todos, en el que muchas personas nos conocemos, puedes estar tranquilo, para mí Guanajuato es un espacio que tiene muchas historias, que tiene tradiciones y se mantienen y nos hace diferentes a otros municipios y estados.
¿Qué consejo le darías a alguien que quiere empezar una carrera en el arte?
Sí se puede, que no dejemos de creer en que esto te puede dar de comer, que sí se puede vivir de esto, hay que ser creativos y ver de qué manera puedes detonar productos nuevos o que tu obra se pueda mover de otras formas, no nada más casarnos con la idea de que el arte solo está en los museos. El mundo cambió y el arte también está cambiando. Que tengas la claridad de qué quiero lograr, con quién quiero llegar y cómo lo hago.

How do you describe your work? What differentiates your work from others?
It is a work of art in a product. They are photos that I have been taking for several years in the trips and tours I have done, they are very personal, there is always a story behind that are the ones I write in the products. They are photographs that are not edited, none of them have a filter, they are all direct shots, the way I found it, that's how it stayed, and they are life experiences. What I am doing is that the artistic photo can have another field of expression, that it does not stay hanging on a wall, that it can be taken as an accessory and that art can move from one place to another.
What inspired you to start working in photography?
I really wanted to do something with my photos, because I had them stored in my computer, something told me to take them out, that they were wasting away, so it was like an inspiration to say "if they are there, why am I going to leave them hidden", I think art should always be shown.
How was the process of taking art to commercial products?
The first thing I did was to make a selection, it took me about a month, because I went to photos from 2003, some photos were still on CDs.
Then I started to see what products I wanted to make, the first thing that came to my mind was face masks, I found a supplier in Leon and I started working with them. I have always been concerned about environmental issues, so I decided to make cloth bags for the supermarket with double view.
The idea is for the brand to diversify beyond these two products and make use of local suppliers.
How do you imagine your career and your business in the future?
I hope it will grow with branches and that you will be able to get the products in other parts of Guanajuato, right now it is just starting, we have 2 months, my idea is that it can become bigger.
What does Guanajuato mean to you?
All my life I have been here and my family has generations here, so for me it is a place that I like a lot, I feel it has many areas of opportunity, it has spaces where art can be for everyone, where many people know each other, you can be at ease, for me Guanajuato is a space that has many stories, it has traditions and they are maintained and make us different from other cities and states.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a career in art?
Yes you can, that we should not stop believing that this can give you something to eat, that you can live from this, you have to be creative and see how you can detonate new products or that your work can move in other ways, not just get married to the idea that art is only in museums. The world has changed and art is changing too. I want you to be clear about what you want to achieve, who you want to reach and how you do it.
